Liebherr brought its smallest forestry material handler to the Ligna woodworking trade fair in Hannover, Germany, May 15th to 19th, 2023. The maneuverable, compact LH 26 M Timber Litronic timber truck was shown with its new tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Liebherr markets the 51,800- to 57,300-pound (23,500- to 26,000-kilogram) material handler to sawmills, timber yards, and woodworking shops with limited space in the U.S. and Canada.

    Show Configuration

Liebherr’s LH 26 M Timber Litronic is a sixth-generation wheeled log loader with a reach of 36.1 feet (11 meters) and a grab capacity of 1.2 to 2.27 square yards (1 to 1.9 square meters). The compact forest machine has a very small front and rear swing radius that allows it to work in narrow passages.

At the Ligna show, the manufacturer equipped the timber truck with a straight, 21.7-ft (6.6-m) boom; a 16.4-ft (5-m) stick with an angled end; and a GM 10B wood grapple with a capacity of up to 1.55 sq yds (1.3 sq m). The LH 26 M also was outfitted with a 3.94-ft (1.2-m)-high LFC 120 rigid cab elevation system, hot-dip galvanized mudguards, and a 9.8-ft (3-m)-wide rear support blade that provides extra stability while handling more timber or loading and unloading a trailer.

    Tire Pressure Monitoring System

The LH 26 M Timber Litronic’s new tire pressure monitor shows a warning on the display if the air pressure differs from the operator’s desired level. The feature improves safety and driving comfort while reducing tire wear. The option will be available on Liebherr material handlers starting in October 2023.

All-wheel steering is a standard feature on the new LH 26 M for driving and directional stability. The log loader also comes with an automatic steering reversal feature that conveniently engages when driving backward to keep the steering direction consistent.

The right front contour of the LH 26 M is always within the width of the new, 9.8-ft (3-m)-wide undercarriage, which allows the machine to operate very close to sorting lines or timber stacks. Liebherr says the visibility from the cabin is excellent.

    High Drawbar Pull

The 170-horsepower (125-kilowatt), Tier 4 Final Liebherr engine in the LH 26 M pairs high torque with low fuel consumption. In conjunction with an electric pivoting angle adjustment in the travel motor, the engine supplies the timber tractor with quick acceleration, high tractive force on slopes, and the ability to tow trailers of up to 66 tons (60 metric tons). The LH 26 M also has a high-flow hydraulic pump that speeds up working cycles.

    Find The Right Liebherr

Among the several hundred new and used Liebherr machines for sale on ForestryTrader are a number of used wheel log loaders for sale from an array of sellers.
