The 2024 Develon DX89R-7 is a highly versatile 8–9 ton compact-radius excavator offering approximately 65 horsepower, 13.6 feet of digging depth, advanced hydraulic controls, and a comfortable technology-rich cab. Its reduced-tail-swing design allows it to operate efficiently in confined work areas while still delivering the digging force, lifting capability, and attachment versatility expected from a larger excavator. For utility contractors, site-development companies, municipalities, and rental fleets, the DX89R-7 provides an excellent balance of productivity, maneuverability, operator comfort, and transportability. It offers a 21,000-lb operating weight, and a maximum digging depth of 13' 6".
