    Rayco Then & Now

John Bowling founded Rayco in 1978 in Wooster, Ohio, in the United States. As the owner of a tree care service company, he recognized that the tree and landscape industries had unique equipment requirements, and he set out to fill them. In November 2017, Rayco became an affiliate brand of Morbark following an acquisition that bolstered Morbark’s equipment stable and the availability of its aftermarket parts and service. In 2016, Stellex Capital Management acquired Morbark. Under its leadership, Morbark acquired DENIS CIMAF in 2018, bringing onboard its industrial brush cutters and mulcher heads. In October 2019, Stellex Capital Management sold Morbark to Alamo Group.

Rayco Forestry Mulchers & Stump Cutters

Rayco’s forestry mulcher lineup ranges from the 120-horsepower (89.5-kilowatt) C120R track model to the 415-HP (309.5-kW) T415 track variant. The C120R uses Rayco’s exclusive Super Flow closed-loop hydrostatic system that Rayco says provides uncommon mulching power for a compact machine. The T415 can switch between a 232-centimetre (91.25-in.)-wide Predator mulcher head and a Hydra-Stumper stump cutter attachment equipped with Monster Tooth cutter teeth.

Rayco manufactures a broad range of stump cutters from Mini Work-Force handlebar models to the 165-HP (123-kW) RG165T-R, a gas-powered cutter on tracks. The RG165T-R comes with a wide hydraulic backfill blade, remote control functionality, a Quick Stop cutter wheel, Command Cut automatic swing-speed control, and retractable tracks. The tracks let the machine pass through 91.4-cm (36-in.) gates and then expand for extra stability. The self-propelled RG55 has a swing-out control station designed to enhance operator visibility and protection. The RG74T-R includes a 74-HP (55-kW) Cummins diesel engine that delivers up to 400 newton-metres (295 pounds-foot) of torque.
