    About Slasher Saws

    CSI DL-4400 Slasher Saw

Slasher saws, also referred to as “sawmills” and “ground saws,” are used to cut one or more delimbed logs down for easy transport on a logging truck. Logs are placed in the saw’s steel-framed cradle, where a circular blade or chain and bar saw emerge from the saw box to make the cut. Many slasher saws are stationary and sit directly on the ground, but there are mobile models that either have built-in wheels or can be mounted to a trailer for towing to and from worksites. Manufacturers typically offer optional add-ons and custom configurations as well, which may include extended folding or stacking chassis, reversible saw boxes, and more.
